Me in Wattens

Yesterday i was in Austria, in Wattens where the story of Swarovski started, as Swarovski teamed up with Samsung to create an elegant smartphone.

Th Smartphone is the Samsung SII, in white, and designed with Swarovski Elements. It will be available from October 2012 for a price of around 400Euros and will be the perfect gift for Christmas as it is very limited.

For us to understand how this phone has been designed, we have been introduced to the notion of trend, wich is not so easy to understand as it seems.
To create a trend, the research starts 2 years before it hits the market with analyst of social comportments, politic atmosphere and much more. Probably the most interesting job in the world.

Then to understand how the phone was made, we created a phone case with Swarovski Elements, using the same squeezing press as the one used to created the Samsung SII phone designed with Swarovski Elements.

At the end, we had a guided tour to the Swarovski Crystal Worlds, the indoor theme park with exhibitions related to crystals and featuring works of famous artists like Keith Haring or Andy Warhols who at some point of their career teamed up with Swarovski.
