Six senses Koh Yao Noi review

Where to sleep on Koh Yao Noi My review of the Six senses Koh Yao Noi Resort. A 5 stars luxury hotel in Thailand situated far away from the tourist crowd.

Six senses Koh Yao Noi review – A luxurious Phang Nga Bay hotel

The Six senses Koh Yao Noi is on Koh Yao Noi Island in the Phang Nga Bay, a 400 km2 bay most famous for it’s sheer limestone karsts that jut vertically out of the sea. James Bond’s The man with the golden gun movie was also filmed in the Phang Nga Bay, close to Phuket in Thailand.

Story : Since I came back from Thailand I am sharing a new story about my time there. This week I am showing you the resort I stayed at, after the days I spent on Koh Phi Phi.

I took a boat to Phuket and then a speedboat for 30 minutes to Koh Yao Noi.

I got excited about the Six Senses Koh Yao Noi resort by a picture that probably everyone of you have on their Pinterest boards : a floating cinema nestled somewhere between the limestone rocks of Phang Nga Bay for the Film on the Rocks festival in 2011. Such a magical picture. I was beyond excited when the opportunity came to me to experience the Six Senses Koy Yao Noi hotel, THE hotel were the festival took place back then.

The Six Senses Koh Yao Noi resort

Six Senses Koh Yao Noi is with no exaggeration paradise on earth. It is a small resort with 55 villas and suites, all made of local teak and with a palm leaf roof.
I stayed in one of the hideaway pool villa, with private infinity pool over viewing the resorts plantation (you can also choose to over view the Phang Nga Bay or to have a villa directly on the beach). No need to tell you that I did not want to leave much the villa but the resort has plenty to offer.

There are two restaurant, one of them is the Hilltop reserve with it’s famous infinity pool facing the cliffs of the Phang Nga bay. There is as well a bar : the Dean facing as well the cliffs of the Phang Nga Bay serving delicious cocktail.
It is also possible to go to the resort own private beach, take yoga or thai boxing classes or just go to the gym or to the spa. Some of you might already know the Six Senses Spas, they are not only in all the Six Senses hotels all over the world, the Six Senses Spa are so famous they are also in many other locations and hotels. Their speciality : they offer a wide range of holistic wellness, rejuvenation and beauty treatments administered under the guidance of expert therapists who travel the world from spa to spa to give the clients the best treatment possible. Many clients even travel to some destination just because they know the spa is having a specific expert.

During my stay at the hotel, I also enjoyed collecting eggs that I would eat later on for my breakfast in the nearby farm. Because did I mention that the food at Six Senses is all organic?! The cook would even pick the vegetables and spices in a special garden in the resort before cooking the dishes.

What is also possible but what i didn’t do because i had no time to do so, is to book excursion to go diving or snorkeling or to visit the island and the nearby islands.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Six Senses Koh Yao Noi. It was so relaxing and beautiful, probably the nicest hotel I have ever stayed at.

For who is Six senses Koh Yao Noi?

Koh Senses Koh Yao Noi is quite pricy so I would say for everyone who can afford to and want to relax or for everyone celebrating something special (if I ever get married I would consider going back to Six Senses Koh Yao Noi for my honeymoon!).

What to wear at the Six senses Yao Noi?

You are free to wear your typical t-shirt, shorts, flip flop outfit but I would suggest to wear something a bit more elegant just to fit with the resort (a light summer dress and espadrilles for girls are perfect) and to bring with you some designer swimwear.

How long to stay at the Six senses Yao Noi?

You can’t stay enough days. I would suggest at least 3 days to enjoy what the resort has to offer and to explore the Island a little bit. I didn’t had the time to do the latest but check out An Aussie on the road’s blog who did a bike tour through Koh Yao Noi to see how the Island looks like.

You can book the resort on Hotels.com.
