Who ever travels to New York knows the struggle about finding an affordable hotel that is both nice and well situated.
For my 6th time in New York, I stayed at the Citizen M New York on Times Square but on a side street so it is away from all the noise.
Over the years I stayed in different parts of New York, Chinatown, Soho, Brooklyn, Upper East Side, Flatiron district and Time Square. Time Square even though I know is a real cliché and not much more than a commercial street. I love to stay there, indeed, each time I go through Time Square it is still kind of magic and what else next to the Empire State Building and Central Park represents more New York than Time Square?! It gives me a real New York feeling.
Also Time Square is very convenient, from there it is very easy to go anywhere in the city.
Review | Citizen M New York
About the hotel now, Citizen M New York is a young and hip hotel. The room are VERY small but with an unbeatable view over the Manhattan buildings. Very Instagram friendly 😉 Anyway who spends much time in an hotel room while in New York? This city has so much to offer.
If you need to rest though, Citizen M has very friendly common spaces. The lobby is very well decorated and has very comfortable seats, a bar, a library and a huge TV. For those who need to work, there is a working space on the first floor with computers.
Also the view is something special in this hotel; not only in the rooms but also in the gym. The 18th floor fitness has got floor to ceiling windows from which you can look over the city while training and from 4PM the cloud bar opens on the 20th floor with a 360degrees view over New York. Perfect to watch the sunset while sipping a cocktail.
Review | Citizen M New York – Fazit
Overall I was very happy with this hotel. The only thing I regret is that I could not put the heater higher than 25degrees… But that’s a personal thing.
