About my ski safari in Alta Badia, a gourmet Michelin experience in the Dolomites. On the program, good food and ski!
Ski safari in Alta Badia
For the sixth season in 2018, the destination Alta Badia invited 13 award winning chefs to create dishes that are served in 13 mountain huts. For the kick off day of the season, a gourmet ski safari in Alta Badia is organized on the slopes. Everyone can purchase a ticket for 50Euros and ski from one mountain hut to the next and taste meals created by Michelin starred chefs. The price includes 4 dishes and tasting of local wine chosen by wine connoisseurs of the region. The opportunity to meet the chefs in person and to see Italian Michelin stars cooking on the slopes at 2000meters.
A gourmet Michelin experience
This season’s theme was Childhood Flavours. The Michelin chefs had to recreate a dish that they loved in their childhood. Famous names participating are : Giorgio Locatelli, Norbert Niederkofler, Matteo Metullio, Nicola Laera, etc
My favourite dish were :
“Veal cheek with Gremolata Sauce, parsley root and roasted prunes” by Nicola Laera at the Bioch Mountain Hut.
“Artichoke, egg and potatoes” by Alberto Faccani at the rustical Bamby mountain hut
“Once upon a time there was a trout” at the glamourus Club Moritzino.
If you missed the gourmet ski safari, no worries, it is possible to taste all meals created by the Michelin chefs during the season in the mountain huts. Have a look here for detailed informations.
Michelin restaurant in Alta badia
Beside this Michelin event, Alta Badia is the perfect destination for foodies as it has many culinary events happening during the year and has got three Michelin star restaurants : The St Hubertus restaurant at the Rosa Alpina Hotel, La Siriola at the Ciasa Salares Hotel and La Stüa de Michil restaurant at Hotel La Perla.
Wine ski safari in Alta Badia
Tip : Don’t miss the closing of the season on Sunday 25th of March, celebrated by a wine ski safari. It is the possibility to taste a variety of the best local wine coming from Alta Badia aka Alto Adige in 4 different mountain huts for 30Euros.
