While in Ho Chi Minh city I stayed at the luxurious Le Meridien Saigon, a riverside hotel in Ho Chi Minh city. One of the thing I really liked about this hotel is it’s location. Indeed, it is right by the Saigon river and therefore away from the busy streets. Not too far away from the center though, so that everything is at walking distance, including the many cute coffee shops.
Le Meridien Saigon, a Starwood property, is one of the first Riverside hotel in Ho Chi Minh City. Indeed, unlike in Bangkok, where I stayed last year the riverside part of the city is not so popular yet but is going to be refurbished in the next year to be more attractive. Nevertheless it is already a place to look for while in Ho Chi Minh city because there is nothing better than a room with a good view. All in all, I felt like on the contrary of most business hotels, Le Meridien Saigon is a very stylish and detail oriented hotel.
Indeed, Le Meridien Saigon is great to get introduced to the history in Ho Chi Minh city. Indeed, even though it is a very modern hotel, it pays a lot of attention to the history of Ho Chi Minh city via the interior decoration. For example they teamed up with artist who tells the story of Ho Chi Minh city in the hotel via their work of art.
Also in the very spacious rooms, many details tell the story of the city, like for example the wall design that tells you where exactly your room is situated in relation to the river.
Food also is important at hotels. And when I am tired I am really happy to be able to eat good food either in the hotel restaurants or order in my room. For breakfast or at their restaurant Bamboo Chic where they serve Pho for lunch, a traditional vietnamese food, one can be introduced to good food and fine vietnamese dishes.
To finish, I loved to relax in the hotel after a busy day in the city. I stayed by the pool where I did some work on my computer. And I also visited the Spa that looked amazing but unfortunately I had no time to try the tempting spa menu. But one thing I recommend is to try the stone massage that I tried a few day before at another location after I visited the many interesting places in Ho Chi Minh!
