The most famous Saint Tropez beaches are on Pampelonne beach. The best kept secrets though, are Escalet beach and Cap Taillat beach. Both public beaches.
The best Saint Tropez beaches are not on Pampelonne beach
Going to the beach in Saint Tropez can be quite frustrating. The beaches in the city center are not very nice, and Pampelonne beach can be very expensive. Indeed Pampelonne has got many beach clubs like Tahiti beach or Club 55. The beach clubs are a lot of fun but if you stay in Saint Tropez for a longer period of time it can add up. Sunchair and an umbrella are around 40Euros per head!!
Like Pampelonne beach, L’Escalet beach and Cap Taillat beach are Saint Tropez beaches but wild beaches that are so quiet and beautiful.
Saint Tropez beach : Escalet beach
After talking with a few locals, they all told me to try Escalet beach, supposedly Saint Tropez’s best kept secret. The beach is easy to access by car or by bus (in the summer there is a bus every 45 minutes).
The first beach is not so welcoming because it is very rocky and therefore it is difficult to enter in the water.
5 to 10 minutes walk from the first beach, you will find wild beaches made of white sand. Entry is free and you will be able to sunbath and chill but also small creeks that are perfect for snorkeling.
Saint Tropez beach : Cap Taillat beach
When you keep walking, you will go toward Cap Taillat. It is perfect if you also want to wander a bit. You have wonderful views over the sea and the more quiet will it be.
Most tourist prefer to stay on Pampelonne beach but Escalet beach and Cap Taillat beach are definitely the best and less touristic Saint Tropez beaches.
