Very first article about my stay in Marrakech, my visit to Majorelle garden that is for me a must see in Marrakech.
The garden is also known under the name of Yves Saint Laurent garden because it was own by Yves Saint Laurent since the 80’s. Originally, the garden has been designed by french painter Majorelle that is famous for the use of a very special shade of blue also called Majorelle blue. Knowing all those details before going to Marrakech I absolutely wanted to shoot a blue outfit in this garden. I know it is silly but whatever… I had to wear this Second female jumpsuit and lovely Lili Radu bag in there..
I hope you enjoy the outfit and the pictures of the garden.
Talking about the pictures taken in the garden I used a new lens I got for my Olympus PEN E-PL7 camera on that day : the Olympus 25mm / 1:1,8 lens.
Actually I didn’t only took pictures of the garden with this lens but I now took all my pictures with this lens. I think it is a perfect all rounder. Perfect for outfits, holiday pictures, details shot, beauty pictures (also the pictures of my article about my Givenchy make-up were taken with this lens).
I think the 25mm is the perfect lens whatever you want to take a picture of and whatever the distance you are away from it. Also the 1:1,8 aperture is great if you want a blurry background. Perfect for details shot or portraits.
I have three other lenses (read my review about my Olympus Pen E-PL7 camera and my lenses here) and generally when I went somewhere I used to change lenses a few times a day either to be able to have more scenery in a picture, to have a blurry background or to zoom into the thing I wanted to take a picture of but was too far away from. I was totally fine with this lens changing thing and I still use the other lenses when I know what I will take a picture of, but I guess on a travel you will always want to photography something you would have to not think of and then you will be happy to not need to change the lens as well as be happy that you didn’t miss that moment you wanted to take a picture of because you were actually changing your lens.
For my need I feel the 25mm / 1:1,8 lens is the most perfect all rounder and is my absolute favorite lens.
Bisou
