I am sharing with you my first wellness experience in Berlin. I started Sunday with a morning rooftop yoga session followed by a spa day at Hotel de Rome.
I often discussed with my friends about where could we go to spend a nice relaxing day in Berlin. Somewhere where we could eat something, swim a bit, go to the sauna or have a massage. We never really came up with an idea. Either there was no pool or no sauna, or it was members only or you had to be naked, or maybe it was just not nice enough. Few of my friends even drine to Brandenburg to have a wellness day.
Last week, I received an email about a rooftop yoga class in Berlin, at Hotel de Rome. The yoga class if you are interested is every Sunday at 9am and is 20Euros. You can read all informations here. I was thinking how nice!! I really wanted to try it especially now that the weather is nice. There is nothing better than exercising outside. I had to wake up super early for a Sunday, but the view over Berlin when I arrived was worth it. And it felt good to practice yoga again.

After the one hour class, I decided to do a spa day with my friend. It is located in the basement of the hotel. And if you didn’t know, the luxurious Hotel de Rome used to be a bank and the spa is situated in the old bank vault where the jewelry and gold were kept. You can still see the vault, and it’s complex door where you now can do your mani-pedi. The spa is also decorated with gold bar to remember the primary purpose of the building.
Now more about the spa. We first enjoyed the 20 meters hotel pool that is in the old jewelry vault of the Dresdner bank and then we enjoyed the finnish sauna and Steam room with aromatherapy. There is also a gym and rooms for treatment. Normal massages are available but also asian massages like for example hot stone massage (which I am a fan of since I tried it in Vietnam last month). Facials and other beauty treatment are on the menu as well, but also treatment for 2 if you want to go with a friend or your other half. I didn’t try any of them so I cannot recommend them but I am sure it is quite nice.
If you are in Berlin you can book a treatment or a day pass to use all the spa facilities. All informations here.
