Now that summer is finally here and since it is getting hotter I was looking for a new inspiration in terms of non alcoolic refreshing drinks. Since I went to NYC in February, I became a huge fan of matcha so when I found a recipe of a matcha lemonade I had to try it asap.
Matcha can be quite bitter so I had some doubt at first especially when I read I have to mix it with lemon, but I gave it a try and I loved it.
It is a super alternative to other soft drinks but also a good alternative to coffee or tea in the summer time as matcha also gives you energy.
Matcha lemonade recipe :
Ingredients:
1 cup hot water
2 cups pure cane sugar
2 cups fresh lemon juice
1 1/2 tablespoon matcha
3 1/2 cups ice water
Instructions:
Pour sugar and hot water into a large mixing bowl and stir together. Add lemon juice and matcha.
Pour mixture into a blender and blend until no matcha granules remain.
Pour it all into a large pitcher and stir in ice water. Serve.
